Frankly my work deals a lot with clean materials and simple surfaces. This piece is on a slate of wood which I loved because it's a clean and strong surface, giving the subject matter even more substance. I wanted to work with opposites on this one - the messy and confusing structure and expression of their faces versus the clean, structured and identical shapes of their shirts.
